Hello everybody. A disclaimer. My aim here is to not bash anybody's walk with Christ, but to strengthen it. To point out the facts (some obvious, some a little more subtle) that may later fortify the pillars of your faith, and to cause it to rest upon the foundation of the truth.
Why is this blog called "Faith Shaker" then? Because if the stones and mortar upon which your spiritual house is built upon is weak and prone to crumbling, then maybe your faith wasn't built upon something strong to begin with. Like say, for instance, popular beliefs. Those are always changing, and at the rate things are going they don't seem to be getting any better.
So that's why I shake it. I shake your building because I want you to see the truth about yourself and what you believe, and to provide a wake up call if you've got weak foundations. If your faith's strong, it will withstand my shake. If not, well...you might want to search out a different layout for your building's bases. My aim here is to encourage a personal walk with God, and an intimate faith rather than a socialite faith, which usually aims to control a mass population and exists more for purposes of security and tradition rather than knowing the truth. It makes my blood boil every time I see a holier-than-thou snub a person's unique relationship with God and the Bible and stomp his sprouting faith back into the mud, to see social crusaders of righteousness tell other people that they can't have a faith other than that pertaining to popular belief. It's disgusting and upsetting, and I aim to make these people realize that their judgments are ill-founded and, ironically, non-Biblical. To hold the mirror up to their face so that they can see the hypocrite staring back at them, to get them to realize that faith and spiritual journey are both a very unique and sacred thing, and that you can't therefore properly dictate where a person should be going, especially if you don't know them at all in the first place.
With that being said, enjoy these alternative viewpoints, and hold on tight! It's gonna get a little shaky in here.
